ColorMarq enables visual shelf scanning to minimize shelf reading. It was designed and engineered specifically for library books and other shelved library media. Its color-code logic works with any and all classification systems.

ColorMarq ID logic is applied to the book's catalog index code, yielding an ensemble of horizontal color bars, a "color bar code", on each label. The color bars are aligned on the label according to the catalog index code of each particular book.

In addition to ColorMarq's visual color bar code, labels can include other identifying components including Library Logo, Bar Code, Branch or Campus Indicator, Language Indicator, Reading Level Indicator, Genre/Subject Icon, Book Award Symbol, Title, Author, Call Number, and Published Date.
